Richard Buckland named NSW Educator of the Year

A huge congratulations to Richard Buckland on his latest award for being an awesome teacher!

University of New South Wales (UNSW) Associate Professor and Co-founder of OpenLearning, Richard Buckland, received the 2013 NSW iAward for ICT Educator of the Year.  Richard teaches the popular first year computer science course, UNSW Computing 1, at the School of Computer Science and Engineering and has made that course available on OpenLearning.

New South Wales iAwards state winners were announced at a function held at NSW Parliament House on Wednesday 12 June. The Hon. Andrew Stoner, BBus, MBA MP – Deputy Premier, Minister for Trade and Investment and Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Services was in attendance as guest speaker and presenter.

The iAwards honours both companies at the cutting edge of technology innovation as well as leading professionals across the ICT industry. Most importantly, the iAwards recognises the achievements of home-grown Australian innovators.
